Dry Bones

Last year for Paige's birthday I gave her a handmade fabric envelope as a place to put the letters I promised to write her each week for her 16th year. It was a way to keep in touch even though I don't live close enough to come home as much as I would like.

I actually did pretty good writing her each week (most of the year... right around Raymond's birth was rough, and I kind of slacked off at the end), but I'm not so sure my letters were all that entertaining, you know?

She heard a lot about the weather, the latest book I'd read, the weather, talks I was preparing, the weather, pregnancy and then Raymond, oh, and the weather. Every now and again I might have been funny or insightful.

Seriously in every letter I guarantee there was at least a comment (if not a paragraph) about the weather. The hot, the cold, the new daffodils, the falling leaves. She got it all. The play by play of Cedar City weather.

I'm sure she loved it.

But you know how sometimes that feels like the most important thing going on? And even if it's not, it somehow influences and matters to every other little thing in life?

So for your reading enjoyment, today was sunshine and breezy in the morning, turned to windy in the afternoon. Wind is a usual here in Cedar.  The singles ward folk are flying kites tonight for FHE--good plan.

I'll take any sort of wind though if it includes sunshine and heat hot enough to leave the door open (despite the breeze).

So today was a good day. And yours?

It's true, the weather does impact a lot of our day to day life. And I love that in most cards I get from Grandma Snowball, she mentions the weather too. It's part of how we communicate and relate to each other. :)

It is true. Maybe because the weather infact kind of sends a message of what our life is like. If it is freezing we know you are bundled up indoors not really able to get out. If there is sunshine usually that means happiness. Unless it has been 3 month of HOT sunshine and then like winter you are now sprald out on your floor hoping for some coldness.

My day was good. I got to take Tanner and Brayden to disneyland all by myself (after Tanner got out of school) It was cool weather (wink) and perfect for Disneyland. It was not too crowded and the boys were fabulous for me. I enjoyed the whole thing. It was much needed for motherly moral. Loving you! Enjoy your windy sunshine!

What a great sister to write letters every week. What a fun idea! You really are a writer. I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday let alone the beginning of the week. I guess it's a good reminder to look up and pay attention! Funny, I really have to remind myself of that often! I get too much inside my head to see what's going on around me. Anyway, are you going to Blanding for the blessing?? We'll hopefully see you there!

We really do need to plan a trip sometime this summer to visit you guys! We really are not that far away at all!
