Here you have it...
Today I was officially asked to chaperon the SJH Prom.
I remember thinking it was fun but totally (TOTALLY) overrated in high school. In fact, I refused to go my senior year. I even said to the junior class president just a week or so ago: don't even think about it. I don't want to. There was probably a twinkle in her eye I didn't notice as she devised her plan. My conversation with the junior class adviser went like this...
Mr. Lacy: All the juniors requested you to chaperon Prom. They all want you to. You were special requested.
Me: NO! Anything but that! Please!
But I can't say no. Dang it. Why am I such a people pleaser? I am going to kill that girl come Monday.

haha! I totally love it! So do you have to get all gussied up and everything?
No, not a formal dress--just church dress. Although if I have to go, I might buy a new something cute. I haven't bought a church dress in a long time.
but... GRRRR
Just remember: what happens at prom, stays at prom. Just Kidding. I just about died reading your post. I'm so sorry! A new dress is a GREAT idea!!!
ps-not that you need a new dress because you do have a great wardrobe, I'm just sayin' ... it's always fun to wear something new. :)
I am sorry to say I kind of laughed about this. I am VERY sorry for you, because I know it is not what you would want to do. Once to the prom was plenty for you. But, I kind of think it is true the kids are asking for you to be a chaperon. They like you, they believe in you, and they actually want you to be part of their fun. Now, my guess is a blanding prom is nothing like a Southern California Prom. But, just a guess. I am going to guess most of the people dance a little better (not so much "freaking" (as they use to call it) dancing) and a little more like a church dance. So, maybe that will make you feel a little better. I personally cannot wait to hear all about it. It definatly goes down as one of those Blanding Adventures. I am sorry that girl got you rigged in though . . . only for your sake. Have fun dress shoping!!!
I'm totally laughing right now. It always seems that the things we never would have chosen to relive naturally come our way. Hope you have a good time anyway.
PS-you should definitely get yourself something fun and cute to wear and make the best! :)
Carly that is so funny. It will be fun being the chaperon! Now I would hate to be the chaperon at one of my daughters prom, but this you can handle! Have fun!
i remember our dancing days well
