Anyone else out there struggle with coming up with a weekly menu? I know it makes grocery shopping so much easier (and cheaper!)... but it just doesn't always happen. Suddenly I'm cooking the same meager meals week after week just because they're easy (or all I can think of).
In an effort to revamp my menu making this week I compiled a Master Menu list of all the meals I make (the ones I actually liked) and am keeping it in my pantry where I can update it with new menu ideas. That way when I'm making my menu and grocery list for the week, I can constantly mix things up a bit.
It looks like my sister-in-law, Jeanine, is on the same page. In an effort to revamp her menu making, she made a new blog where she (and any of us sister-in-laws) can post her two week menu. She's also attached links and recipes for us to try along with her if we want. I'm determined to follow along. In fact, I posted my current menu (and a few recipes) last night.
It's not a fancy shmancy cooking blog with pictures etc. It's just us, making new stuff and writing down what we're going to be trying. Sisters, swapping recipies and stuff. But you're welcome to follow along.
Who knows, maybe it'll help you with your weekly menus too!
Happy cooking!

I too am looking for ways to plan what I cook - and save money. One of my very favorite cook books is 365 No Repeats by Rachel Ray. I know there are some people who have an aversion to her but it's a great cookbook. What I like about it is that there will be a master recipe then three or four variations on that. So when you have leftover chicken you can do something real with it. Rather than have chicken tacos three nights in a row.
Enjoy!
I love it when I have a menu, I try and do one so I at least have a plan of what to do, even if it's grilled cheeses. But one site I love to look at for recipes is http://www.justamomha.com/pantry-gourmet/
It's a site my friend has who I met at BYU (and she was at the MTC in peru with me and went to Santa Cruz, so you know she has good taste!). I go to this site almost every time I'm looking for a new recipe because I know she is normal mom, just like me.
Good luck with the menu! It really helps
I love all the stuff you've been making BTW, crafty Carley!
thanks for your post. i'm always on the look out for new recipes. thanks a million.
How fun! I am going to follow. I always like so new ideas. I haven't posted my menus in a long time on my blog. Maybe I need to do that again. It always got me trying and doing new things!
My sister and I started a blog like that, but are too put our weekly plans up, so we just put up recipes. It has many of my favorites, if you ever need ideas: aweekworthoffood.blogspot.com/
