I finally managed to order the rest of my diaper-making supplies (pale pink! butter yellow!) and knew my fun baby clothes sewing would have to be put on hold. So last week was my mad dash to finish enough projects that I would feel good going back to diaper making. (Side note: is nesting supposed to last the whole pregnancy? Because it hasn't let up around here).
I kept that little machine a-whirring all week long. Here are the fruits of my labors:
This jumper is a combo of a pattern I bought (my first time buying and sewing from a commercial pattern! verdict: tutorials online are usually clearer and more detailed) and a tutorial I found. The booties make the outfit, don't you think??
This little jumper is the next size up of the newborn ones I already made. (Side note: I'm worried those first ones will be more like shirts than dresses...). Oh how I adore this cherry fabric. The booties from above are lined with the cherries and are intended to match both jumpers. (ps. Please forgive the fact that I still haven't put on buttons. I have super struggling to find buttons I like these days.)
One thing I learned with Raymond: you can never (ever) have enough bibs. You would think I could just whip out these bibs... but I tell ya, the set of six did take me a few days. I liked getting to be a little more creative with the rick rack, ribbon, and buttons. Jeremy commented that I seem to be giving the lady bug the royal treatment. I responded that he would have been upset if I had tried to put anything decorative (like ribbon and buttons!) on a bib for Raymond. He conceded.
And lastly, for you out-of-towners (pretty much the majority of you), I am definitely looking pregnant these days. Don't you agree?
I'll be 30 (THIRTY!) weeks tomorrow. I tell you, this pregnancy is flying right on by. It's shocking actually. Yesterday Jeremy and I discussed the way we will rearrange our bedroom to make room for the new addition. I can't believe there are only about two months to go.
I'll be honest, I don't feel ready.
Once I get the diapers finished, I might feel more prepared. But I still have Christmas sewing and projecting to do. And one-on-one time to spend with Raymond. And more baby sewing. Definitely going to need all two months. But do not fear, I am confident that slowly and steadily I'll get it all done if I work on a little here and a little there each day.
In the meantime I'm enjoying my bulging belly. I might be the weird one, but I really love being pregnant. I love the belly. I love the kicking. I love the planning and scheming. I've been working every day for the past week to mentally prepare myself for the lady bug's labor and delivery. It's becoming a peaceful and calming part of each day. I am so grateful to be a woman and to participate so actively in this beautiful process. It truly is miraculous.

Oh my word DARLING. Darling, darlnig, darling....DARLING. You are so cute. So clever. I love that you have made all these things for her. Oh the joys of girls and getting to embellish more. I just love it. I LOOOOOVE the dresses (and shoes). The bibs are fabulous. Fabulous. Everything is so cute. And YOU. You are as cute as ever. Look how cute pregnant you are. Love it. Brayden walked up and said "Why does Aunt Carly look like that?" I responded "She is pregnant. Did you not know that?" He looked at me and shook his head like "no idea mom." Pretty funny. And cute. Oh, how I adore you sister. So so fun. And well. Pink and yellow diapers. That sounds pretty fabulous too.
Oh, and if you first dresses turn into shirts...think how darling that will be too. With little tiny jeans or something...oh darling. Maybe that means she will be able to wear the dresses for longer anyways. First as dresses then as shirts. just put a long sleeve onesie underneath. Oh, the wonderfuless of a little girl. love you!!
You are definitely going to have the cutest baby girl on the block! Love the red jumpers with matching booties no less! My favorite bibs are the ones with the rick rack. Very cute. I don't know how you have the energy to do all that sewing! I am exhausted a lot of the time. I think I have a vitamin deficiency or something cause this is supposed to be the energetic part of pregnancy. Sigh. I'm sure you will get everything done that you need to before the ladybug arrives. Have fun sewing those pink diapers! :)
they are adorable all of them. good luck with the diapers. I have been busy sewing them myself. I have some mint green and light yellow and then white pul. been having lots of fun. I purchased 18 AIO of my size small cause i knew there was no way I had time to make them before the baby came. So I have been working on kadens. he has 5 so far. I have only had my PUL for a week and a half now though maybe 2. Have you tried microfiber for a core? Its really thirsty and you can get it for 28 cents a core at samsclub...and its alot trimmer also.
Looks like a lot of fun, and those dresses are beautiful! I wish I could sew like that!
A far as bibs go, I used to go through a ton of cloth ones, but for Isaac's first Christmas we asked for a plastic one and got one of these: http://www.amazon.com/BabyBj%C3%B6rn-046055US-BABYBJ%C3%96RN-Soft-Bib/dp/B000XDXD08/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1285618564&sr=8-3-fkmr0
A Baby biorn soft bib. It is wonderful! Wipes off and catches everything that falls or gets dropped. I love it!
Okay seriously, how cute is everything that you are making! I love it! I wish I had half of yours and Tasha's talents. Not fair. That little girl is going to be the cutest girl in Utah for sure!
I'm in the throws of nesting, too, and I've still got 15 weeks to go! It's not enough time! My projects are more with home improvements and organizing than baby related, since we're having another girl and we use disposable diapers. But I love reading your blog and seeing the cute things you are making! The one crafty thing I'm trying to do is a 15x11 cross-stitch for my living room wall - I don't know if it will get done but I'm trying! Love ya!
ADORABLE!! Wow, you are talented. And your belly is so cute!! I have to admit it makes me want to have baby #3. Hmmmmm...
I love it all!!! So cute! And so excited to have an addition to the family!yay!
Darling!! (Both you and the baby clothes) I'm just the teensiest bit envious in this moment that you are having a girl. Girl clothes are just so stinkin' cute while it seems boys are confined to cars/trucks, sports, and dinosaurs. I love the booties! I want to make some manly ones for our boys (one of the few things I have been able to find!)--baby shoes are just so darling!
