speaking of redheads
Right as I was about to start typing I was temporarily distracted by the fact that my feet are purple. Does this happen to you? I have extremely poor circulation.
Speaking of blood flow, did you know redheads are bleeders? Neither did I until Valley View Medical Center staff told me so every single time I had to have any sort of blood work done in the last two and half years.Funny thing is, at least in my case, it's true.
Redheads also (supposedly) bruise easily. Also true in my case.
Speaking of redheads, I think general we get a pretty bad wrap. You know, the whole personality-matches-the-hair bit. (I guess blondes have it worse, though. I shouldn't complain.)
Just last week I had a whole conversation with the checker at Wal-Mart about Raymond being a redhead. You know, feisty and fiery. We made small talk about his temper.
And as I walked away, I thought about how I don't agree with what I just off handedly said about my son. That he has a personality to match his hair.
Because while he can throw a pretty good tantrum when he wants to, I don't know a toddler who can't. Redhead or otherwise. I don't really think it has much to do with his hair.
But speaking of Raymond, I must say that boy really does get cuter every day. Today he got a hair in his mouth (ahem, one of my very own red hairs) and came running to me with his tongue hanging out and said (as best he could in that position), "gross!" I laughed.
He seriously says the funniest things (or maybe they are just funny because of the way they come out of his little boy mouth.) He kept trying to say strawberry tonight.Endearing in every way.
Speaking of strawberries, I'm pining for summer and walking weather and short sleeves. Last night the wind got up to 50 mph around these parts. I'm serious.
And for a last unrelated note, I have decided that I love to dress "Baby Birginia" in pale pink more than any other color. Even red! It suits her so well. I was sure I wasn't going to be a only-dress-my-baby-girl-in-pink kind of mom. But I purposefully do laundry to recycle my favorite pink outfits faster. Maybe it's because she isn't a redhead. (And the stereotypes continue.)
And there you have it.

NIiiiiiice stream of consciousness.............
Who was "Anonymous" above?! Weird. Anyway, I agree about the redhead thing--I don't know if I have any worse of a temper than anyone else, but yes, like you I have TERRIBLE circulation (purple toes) and bruise easily. A couple of my doctors have made comments about redheads being more complicated in terms of bleeding, etc (I remember after my first miscarriage and D&C that I fainted, and the dr/nurse said, "oh, she's a redhead!" Being a redhead is great fun, even if I was called "Big Red" in high school. :-) And Raymond is a CUTIE PIE as well as a redhead!
I find myself saying things to strangers about my kids that I don't really agree with too. It's so weird. I don't know why I do it. I guess I'm saying what I think they want to hear? Not sure. I'll have to think more on that one.
As for redheads. I think Raymond is such a cutie. And I love it when they start talking. It's so much fun! I totally have favorite outfits for Talia that I put her in all the time. She only has one red outfit. I like it, but it's not my favorite. I like her in pink too. It looks so sweet with brown hair. :) Hope you guys get a taste of Spring soon! It's only 35 this morning here. Sad.
Ditto on Shannon's first paragraph. Why do we do that?!
When I had Lizzie I thought I wanted to dress her in light purple (rebelling against the light pink) but that color is just too sweet on baby girls and that's what she wore most of the time! And toddlers are pretty much hilarious. :)
I just love that Mr. Raymond. A whole stinkin bunch. I love when they start talking because almost everything they say makes me smile or laugh. Chase has been getting me going a lot lately too. I love that he is a redhead too. Love it. It just makes me happy every time I see him...or a picture of him. Oh, and I love that top picture. Me trying to distract the boys and ended up in the picture. Love it :) And it makes me smile that you love Ginny in Pink. Love it. Maybe I need to make her something? I really want to try my hand at sewing clothes. It is just so scary looking though. I sure love you Carly Jane. We need to talk again soon.
I love redheads too! Its exciting to me to finally have a redhead in my immediate family. I had two cousins who "qualified" as redheads - one was a light strawberry blonde and her sister had a headful of thick bounteous auburn locks.
About your "purple" feet - do your hands ever get that way as well? If so, it is possible you may have a disorder called Raynaud's Syndrome. Look it up and see if you match! I don't know if redheads are more prone to it, but come to think of it the two people I know who have this both have red hair. Hmmm.
Looking forward to summer!
