Sadly, I don't have any pictures from the baby shower. It was thrown by the Christiansen clan and was just family. Just about all of them made it down for conference and the shower. It was so great to spend the weekend with everyone :). My first little boy outfits and board books had made their way to my baby stash. I tell you I am getting baby hungrier by the minute!
Then this last week/weekend was my spring break and a weekend of adventures in Provo for some BYU baseball. My mom and my sister, Paige, drove through on Thursday and picked me up, and Jeremy joined us on Friday (after his own little adventures with the ever favorite kidney stones. That deserves a post all it's own).
Can I just say that I really and truely love BYU? I do. I know it is sometimes controversial as there are plenty who don't, but I treasure the years I spent there. I love being on campus, going to the bookstore, visiting the library (oh how I miss that library!), and, of course, going to baseball games. This trip was no exception. I loved getting to be at all three games for the weekend (even the rainy game on Saturday), and mostly especially the Friday game when Blake pitched.
Usually when I watch my brother pitch, I am a nervous wreck. Seriously. But this time he was in control from the beginning and it never slacked. Somewhere around the 7th inning I realized it was still a shut out and that Blake on had two hits on him. Knock on wood. But he never flintched. He ended up pitching the whole game and was named pitcher of the week for the Mountain West conference. It was an awesome game. And I was there.
Now, I am back at home and back and work and maybe, just maybe, things will slow down for the next few weeks (until we move, of course, and the baby comes). I'm going to do my best not to throw myself into preterm labor or kill myself on too many more sewing projects (sorry, I realized I never took pictures of the quilts and bibs, dolls and bean bag frogs, chew toys and plush balls I've made... but I have had fun making all of it! Maybe I'll do more for my own little guy when I get some energy back).
All my lovin'

And that is the truth . . . "And I was there." What a lucky lucky LUCKY girl!! I wish with all my heart we were right there along with you. What an AMAZING game Blake had. I am glad your babyshower was so nice and also you had a nice weekend see Blake's games (minus Jeremy and Kidney Stones and your own not fun one night in there too!) I love you to pieces. I am glad you have been having some fun. Maybe I can take some pictures of the cute gifts you have been making me and send it to you so you have some documentation of at least some of it :) )
I love BYU too. Oh, I miss it!
It is fun to be back at BYU . . . and slightly surreal. I loved being at that game and watching Blake pitch! So exciting. We are going to go to this Friday's game too. I loved getting to see you and your cute pregnant belly, and meeting Jeremy officially. :) Hope things settle down a bit for you. Enjoy any and all downtime pre-baby! Love you!
Happy baby shower and BYU baseball to you! And having battled kidney stones for years and passing half a dozen myself, I am SO sorry for Jeremy. I can attest it is worst than child birth. So rest assured that when you're giving birth to your little boy, Jeremy as at least gone as much pain! Kidney stones are no joke! Hope he's doing better!
So I read the part about the kidney stones and I have to tell you.. tell Jerm to juice a diakon radish or two and drink it. I had horrible kidney stones (during California, actually) and I thought I might be dying. I had them for like two weeks, and after someone told me to do that, they were gone.
I really am bummed I had to miss the baby shower! Can't wait to meet my new nephew!
That is great you were able to see your brother pictch. I totally feel the same way about BYU. I have only been back once in the 4 1/2 years I moved away. Your projects sound so fun. Get as much rest as possible before the baby comes.
Great to hear from you! Glad all is going well (busy, but well). Hang in there through the move and everything!!
Did you ever find the white baby furniture you mentioned several posts ago? We got ours at IKEA and we love it. Very inexpensive, but well made. The changing table/bookshelf is my favorite by far. Hope things are going well for you!
